WTCW's First Arbor Day event on April 28-30, 2023! where students and the public meld into a new tribe.
EVENT DETAILS:
By registering you agree to follow our host's campus policies. Additionally, should COVID present its ugly appearance again, we shall follow any host, state and federal COVID guidelines. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Check in:
Check in at Noon on April 28. Should you arrive early please feel free to check-in at the Ellery Motel or walk the campus/arboretum (self guided tour) until the event starts. This all-inclusive workshop includes food, lodging, instruction, use of gear, networking and CEU's. You will learn how how to climb trees while emphasizing the art and science of Arboriculture. This safe, empowering experience will renew your spirit, allow you to bond with others curious and excited to advance their knowledge. Most importantly, you will leave with new friends and a network of professional colleagues.
Travel:
If you need to a ride from the airport - please research car share programs (Taxi, Uber, Lyft, etc.). or if you wish to coordinate rides with other participants, please "reply all" to the group email sent once registration closes.
Lodging:
Students from Smith College will be staying in their dorm rooms. Non-Students will be sleeping at the Ellery Hotel.
We are request that all Ellery guests car pool to campus (1 mile away) to reduce our carbon footprint.
Food:
Smith College students will use their designated meal plan. Non-Student meals & snacks are included in your registration costs! Friday: dinner, Saturday: breakfast, lunch and dinner, Sunday: breakfast and lunch. If you have food allergies, our caterer will do their best to fulfill your requests. Please provide all allergies/food restrictions in registration.
Tree Climbing Gear:
If you have your own tree climbing gear and wish to use it at the event, please bring it with any gear inspection documentation. Your gear shall be inspected and signed off by a WTCW team member before using.
Clothing:
MA spring weather changes quickly. Dress for all weather! Please pack long pants, long sleeves, hiking (over the ankle) boots, rain and warm jackets, warm hat and gloves, and don't forget sunscreen and bug spray. Be prepared.
Yoga & More ...
Your yoga mat and blocks want to join the fun. If you don't have any, WTCW has some to share (first come, first serve).
Please bring your own water bottle and snack container. Water coolers are available in the field.
Consider bringing your own "utensils" to reduce your environmental footprint. Our caterer is committed to their best in keeping our waste as small as possible.

Cancellation Policy:
If you can’t attend the event, please email us asap. Full refund available until February 20, 2023. Refund less $100 available until February 28, 2023. After February 28, 2023 no refunds will be granted.
